The element of wood holds all other elements together. It sends its roots into the earth, where it draws up water for nourishment. It reaches into the air, drawing strength from the heat of the sun. It also provides fuel for fire, and its remains nourish the soil so new wood can grow.
Wood spirits display this unique harmony in their behavior, with many spirits exhibiting keen insight. Since the nature of wood draws so much of the world into itself, wood spirits are often very knowledgeable and consulted for their wisdom. Ancient wood spirits are frequently consulted as oracles, though their sayings can be cryptic and twisting like vines.
They're reluctant to manifest, preferring to remain in astral space where their access to the flows of magic and information is greater. They object to being summoned in conditions where another element is strongly dominant, such as underwater, underground, or in the air.
